FAQs

Who can apply?

We are looking for startup teams working on technologies and new business models that reduce food loss in the earlier stages of the food value chain—from harvest to distribution. Technologies we’re particularly interested in are food preservation, logistics and supply chain optimisation, sensing IoT and data monitoring, storage and packaging solutions, as well as farm and stock management systems.

Does it cost anything to participate?

The programme is equity-free: we will not charge you anything other than your complete dedication and full-time commitment for its whole duration.

Can we apply only with an idea?

In order for us to help you to get the most out of the programme, we are primarily looking for startups that have developed at least an MVP (minimum viable product). However, as long as you have a compelling business vision, we’d love to still hear it.

Where will we live during the programme?

During the programme you will live in Copenhagen. You can join the programme with maximum 4 team members. Maersk will provide a grant to cover travel and accommodation costs for 2 founding members (CEO inclusive) for the duration of the programme.

What happens after I apply?

Our scouting team will read through applications on a continuous basis and provide feedback on your application as soon as possible.

We will notify the selected teams in 1-2 days after the application closes on May 20. Selected teams will need to arrange travel and accommodation themselves in coordination with the programme team, of which the expenses will be covered by the travel grant.

By applying for the programme we expect you to be available to travel to Copenhagen before June 6 and stay in Copenhagen until July 6.

Are there geographical restrictions?

No. We are open to startups from all over the world.

What is an online office hour?

The online office hour provides the opportunity for startups to learn more about FoodTrack during a short presentation and ask questions directly to the programme team.

What happens during and after the programme?

You will spend a month at the Maersk office in Copenhagen participating in an intensive full-time programme during which you will receive intensive support and guidance from the programme team and the best mentors from both Maersk and the Rockstart network. The programme is divided into four steps that will lead you through your validation process close to the industry and prepare yourself for exponential growth: problem validation, problem solution fit, competitive advantage and on stage. The programme includes a component focused on personal and team development as well.

At the of the programme you will have the opportunity to pitch your business to Maersk for potential partnership and investment.
